The Quarry at Curitiba’s Parque Tanguá, Brazil.

Parque Tangua, Curitiba, Brazil

Curitiba, Brazil. Though Tanguá Park has an inescapable man-made feel due to its former incarnation as a quarry, it is still a beautiful place to while away a hot summer day. Do as the (young) Brazilians do and bring a partner to join you in rolling around and making out on the grass. Afterwards, cool off with a bowl of frozen açaí and granola in the park café. It is SO much tastier and more refreshing than a novelty ice cream bar, not to mention better for you. As my dad would say, “it’s good tastin’ and good for ya”. Of course he usually says that about bacon and fried chicken so I’ll let you be the judge of its flavor and health benefits.

Practical Info: The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Address: barrio Pilarzinho, rua Dr. Bemben.
